Tijana Grujic, Serbian–Austrian soprano is steadily earning international acclaim for her performances of leading operatic roles. Praised by the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung for her sizeable voice with a warm, rich timbre.

Her operatic repertoire includes important soprano roles such as Marenka The Bartered Bride, Micaëla Carmen, Marguerite Faust, Pamina The Magic Flute, Donna Elvira Don Giovanni, Nedda Pagliacci, Trina McTeague, Adina L‘elisir d‘amore, Gilda Rigoletto, Mary Lloyd The Duchess of Chicago, Sonja The Tsarevich, Frau Luna Frau Luna, Laura The Beggar Student.

Tijana Grujic recently appeared as Marguerite Faust in Mecklenburgischen Staatstheater Schwerin. This season she is performing Nedda in Pagliacci and Laura in Beggar Student operetta in Stadttheater Bremerhaven.

She was associated with opera houses in Nürnberg, Darmstadt, Linz, Schwerin, Nordhausen, Heidelberg, Münster, Mainz, Passau, Stralsund and worked with conductors as Michael Hofsetter, Wolfgang Katschner, Dennis Russel Davies, Stefan Blunier. She appeared at numerous festivals: Brucknerfest Linz, Winter in Schwetzingen, Operafestival in Macau, Chimgau Festival (Bad Endorf), Kurt Weil Festival in Dessau, Festival of Sacred Music in Berlin, Saarbrücken New Music Festival.

As a frequent concert and recital performer Tijana Grujic sang in Tel Aviv, Berlin, New York, Atlanta, Boston, Belgrade, Macau (China) Zürich, Paris, Bordeaux, Clermont Ferrand and Marseille. Her concert repertoire includes among others: Beethoven‘s Ninth Symphony, Mahler’s Symphony No. 4, Orff’s Carmina Burana, Mozart’s Requiem.

Before she accomplished her change of range to soprano Tijana Grujic’s association with Landestheater Linz (Austria) includes numerous mezzo-soprano roles where she sang Hänsel, Orlowsky, Siebel, Rosina, Olga. Under the baton of chief conductor Dennis Russell Davies Tijana Grujic sang Composer, Donna Elvira and Aglaunice in the critically acclaimed production of Philip Glass’ Orphée. On account of her cultural achievement and contributions, she has been granted honorary Austrian citizenship.

Tijana Grujic was born and raised in Belgrade, Serbia, and earned her music degree with honors at Johannes Gutenberg Universität Mainz. During her studies she won numerous prizes: 1st prize at Erika Köth Competiton, first price at Bayreuth Competition in Mainz and was award winner at the Kammeroper Rheinsberg. She was supported by the Rheineland-Pfalz Future Initiative (ZIRP), the Bertelsmann Foundation (New Voices), the Richard Wagner Association (Wiesbaden) and Villa Musica (Mainz). In New York she attended specialization courses with Ruth Falcon and Diana Soviero. Currently studying with Irmgard Boas in Dresden.
